After trying several different shoes, the Capezio Canvas Dansneaker is what I settled on for Zumba. (I found that a regular tennis shoe had too much traction for the pivoting of Zumba, and it was hard on my knees.) The split sole of a dance shoe takes a little getting used to, but I am happy with the Dansneaker for Zumba, and think it might be good for step aerobics, as well. I usually wear a size 9 or 9 1/2 shoe, and needed a size 10 in the Dansneaker.
